Forever Ago

All 29 Forever Ago achievements

Quick answer

The list is 29 achievements with no difficulty or combat entries. Only four spell out their conditions on Steam — the rest unlock through exploration, photography and optional scenes.

Forever Ago lists 29 achievements, and most of them arrive on their own: the game hides its achievements by default to keep the story intact, and a player who explores, photographs and lingers will watch the list fill up without a guide. This page is for the rest — the planner achievements, the single-run rule and the spots where players report things not popping.

The unlock rates below are a snapshot taken on October 9, 2026, one day after launch. They climb as more players finish the story, so treat them as a ranking of how early each achievement sits in the journey, not as difficulty.

The four you can plan for

Only four entries spell out their conditions on Steam, and all of them are about the camera:

  • Focus Finder — take 25 photos. Counts across the whole journey, not one chapter.
  • Picture Perfect — take 50 photos. Same deal, just further out. With up to 12 photos per scene and four kept per chapter, both come naturally if you shoot freely and choose later.
  • Glimpse Into The Past — find a vignette. Vignettes are the pink-petal memory scenes scattered through each area. The first one takes care of itself if you explore.
  • Petal Collector — find all of them. Gather every petal you pass as you go; hunting them in a second sweep is the hard way.

The one-run rule

There is no chapter select in Forever Ago, so anything phrased as "every opportunity" has to be handled inside your single playthrough — and Old Bones is the strictest of them: rest at every opportunity the game offers. Benches, seats and quiet spots all count. If the prompt appears and you skip it, the achievement is a fresh-run problem, not a chapter-replay one.

When an achievement won't pop

Player reports from the launch week, and how to unstick each one:

  • Stick throws at Sam's aren't counting. The throw only registers in the walk segment with the dog — keep the walk going, throw again when she drops it, and let the scene finish rather than leaving early.
  • The kitchen drawer can't be found. It's in Chapter 9's house. Hug the counters in the kitchen and check the drawer faces; the interaction prompt is tight to the furniture, so approach slowly from the front.
  • The selfie won't trigger. Line the group up as prompted, use the timer and wait out the full countdown — the shot doesn't count mid-countdown. If the smile control seems dead, nudge Alfred's position first; the input only responds once the frame is set.

The completion picture

Nothing here needs a second playthrough except Old Bones, and nothing is difficulty-gated. Explore every corner, interact with every object that highlights, photograph as much as the game allows, and rest whenever a seat shows up — that combination covers almost the entire hidden list.
